Re-creation process

Great care and thought are taken in refurbishing and transforming furniture to make it fabulous again!

3 main steps make up the re-creation process:

Unearth the pearls

Antique, retro or mid-20th century furniture is solidly built, much better  than today's furniture! These pieces of furniture unearthed here and there have often had a hard life and are still in this world!

It is worth investing efforts to fix them and allow them to serve and embellish our decor for many more years!

Unleash creativity

Depending on what the piece of furniture inspires, determine the direction to take for the treatment and the steps necessary for its transformation.

Prepping:  a lot of love is often needed to bring some pieces back to life!

  • Repair, solidification, fixing

  • Removing upholstery if any

  • Stripping: if required, a stripping with baking soda blaster is done: gentle on the wood and gentle on the environment and eliminates odors

  • Sanding, cleaning

Let's get creative!

  • Primer, paint, stain*

  • Process: distressed, wash paint finish, faux finish, image transfer, addition of fabric, stencils, etc.

Final touch - the deails that add unique and original style

  • Protection: Varnish/wax/glaze*

  • Hardware*

  • Padding and covering*

  • Treatment of drawers (inside,  sides), inside or the furniture

* We favor the use of ecological products from local manufacturers and suppliers as well as recycled material and end of line collections.
